For example, I think it would be tough to argue that natural gas expansion is having a material effect on the deployment of residential roof top solar...see my point? Why would M...Alex, I"m missing something here. Why would MORE natural gas result in more renewables? Using traditional carbon sources of energy is the easiest since they are already scaled up; it seems to me that to scale renewables, we need more investment, which isn't going to happen if we take the easy, carbon route. Hard to say, but as I argue, likely moot in any case...thanksAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08716429943841101396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4461967048420881307.post-65283048183398678392014-10-13T15:19:20.332-07:002014-10-13T15:19:20.332-07:00Alex:

You missed one i...Alex:

Well, of course, I agree!

You missed one important point. Even if natural gas has less life-cycle emissions than coal (doubtful, especially over a 20 year time horizon because of methane emissions), natural gas still hurts the climate because it not only offsets coal use, but it also offsets renewable energy (zero carbon) use as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07641873386847959336noreply@blogger.com
